Arrival in Bangkok

So, lesson number 1 on Rosyandkev.blogspot.com - you can't plan for everything! Before we'd even left the UK, our first hostel rang and said they'd overbooked and there was no room at the inn for Rosy and Kev. Now, in normal Rosy World, this would have been disastrous - my lovingly crafted schedule had a mistake in it on the first day - but the hostel's offer to put us up in a much nicer hotel lightened my mood.

When we woke up on Wednesday morning, instead of being ready and raring to go - my body had decided to do that thing it always does when I finish work for a while - and give me a stinking cold. I hadn't planned for illness on the journey, although my meticulous preparation on the medication front has served me well.

So you would think that I would be stressing my little head off right now, but amazingly, I feel very calm. The eleven hour flight was fine - Kev passed out for most of it to take his mind of the constant turbulence, while I made everyone around me totally paranoid with my all night sneezing and coughing (I'm sure the guy in front and the girl behind me were sneezing this morning when we got off the flight - ooopsy!). So as I was unable to sleep I watched hours and hours of Family Guy (no change to normal life there) and then while Kev was well and truly asleep I secretly tuned in to 'Seventeen Again' with Zac Effron!

Arrived in Bangkok and escaped any sort of heat detector and headed out into the 33 degree heat where Mr Porn our taxi driver picked us up. Short drive along (tar-maced!!!) roads and we arrived at our hostel. We've been out and had our first taste of street food (man that was goooooood!) and now the heavens have opened which is so refreshing. Getting an early night tonight and hoping to be snot free by tomorrow ready to explore all that Bangkok has to offer (although, Ron, not ALL that Bangkok has to offer!).

I promise the next installments will be much more interesting, but for now... that's your lot.
Big kisses
Rosy and Kev xxx

  2. It was rice and duck, had it for breakfast again this morning! Just had Pad Thai noodles with Shrimp - not sure that was such a good idea, got the fear half way through and decided to just eat the noodles!! xx
